More reason to get plenty of calcium!

Over the years, we’ve continued to better understand the many ways calcium works in the body - it’s not just for bones - and a majority of adults in the US do not get enough! While supplements help, you need to make sure you are also getting the right proportion of magnesium, vitamin D and phosphorus, which tends to be easier done by consuming foods rich in calcium along with some supplemental Vitamin D particularly if you’re not one to spend much time in the sun without sunscreen! (which seems to apply to most of us women!). This research further supports the importance of getting enough calcium, and suggests that even for men, the dietary inadequacy with respect to this mineral has significant adverse health consequences.
