Happy Thanksgiving to all!

so many things to be grateful for every day. my Dad will be 87 on Friday - he is really quite remarkable, even if I am biased :-) He still paints watercolors that are amazing (I’ll post some of them sometime), and both he and my Mom still drive, do all their own home cooking (and I mean from scratch old fashioned real food, including home-made bread!!!). Will also get to see a friend from high school I don’t get to see much and her family which will be great. Since my husband passed away my friends have become so much more important to me - not that they weren’t before, but I have definitely become much more aware of how important they are to my life and how fortunate I am to have them in my life. I am also grateful to have a job and a roof over my head, and the grace to share it with one who is not so fortunate. Sometimes I get tired, but realize I have an obligation to use my skills, knowledge and experience to do what I can to make the world a better place. I’m not sure I’m in a job right now where I can do that as well as I would like, but for now, and until things get to a point where it is clear the company will not survive, I will persevere.

Remember this: we can sleep without fear of missiles raining down, of where our next meal will come from, of whether we will be able to get help if we are sick, and know that our children can go to school, even if they are girls. Happy Thanksgiving.
